Glee - 1x22 - Regionals
Yes, I'm skipping a couple episodes, but I loved last night, so...

1x22 - Regionals
I loved so much about this episode, so let's begin.

This was an emotional roller coaster for me. I cried more in this episode than in any other. When the club was in Will's apartment and Tina just started crying, I lost it. Whenever Rachel cries, I cry. Will hearing "Don't Stop Believing" on the radio and crying. Quinn wanting Mercedes in the delivery room. Quinn having her baby. To see Santana crying during "To Sir with Love" and Sue at the end, I was a mess. I loved every single one of these scenes though.

Let's pause and note the lapse in judgment (ha!) in having Sue as a judge. She's not on good terms with the show choir committee, as she was reported as having leaked the sectionals set list. Also, wouldn't the committee figure she would have personal interest in seeing New Directions win? I know that this is television, and perhaps I'm over analyzing, but this is the one loop hole that I found in this episode to be a little nagging.

"Break a leg."
"I love you."
I have always loved Rachel. I've loved her character. She's demanding and she knows what she wants. I never really liked Finn/Rachel until the back 9. I always thought that her school-girl crush on Finn was just that. There wasn't any substance behind it. It wasn't until that he actually wanted her and she'd moved on that I started to ship these two. That moment, when they were out in the hall, about to sing, I melted.

I don't know how to feel about Quinn's mom returning. I was touched and I gasped when I saw her in the audience, but I feel like Quinn shouldn't return home, not yet anyway.

I absolutely loved the "Bohemian Rhapsody" with Quinn's delivery over it. Perfectly done. I've heard people say, "People don't have babies that fast." I don't think she was having it in real time. When I watched it, I just assumed they lapsed it to match time with the song. Obviously, she's not having the baby at the exact moment that the song is going. Anyone?

I called that Shelby would adopt Puck and Quinn's baby when Rachel told Shelby she'd had a "beautiful baby girl" and there was a quick pause and the scene ended. It just felt right. I also feel like this leave things open for these characters to return in the future. My one qualm with this was that I wish we could have seen a little more of Quinn and Puck giving up the baby. I think Quinn was pretty set on this for a while, but Puck didn't seem to ready to give the baby away. However, I think this leaves things open for next season.

Oh, Will and Emma. You teases. I knew that Emma was going to drop the bomb about her dentist. I like this move for story purposes, but I hate it because it keeps them apart. I loved Jayma in her scene with Figgins. LOVED IT. She got so heated and worked up over the glee club being disbanded and you know she was upset over Will. I can't wait for this to pan out next season. I'm not sure how I feel about the rumors of the casting of the dentist. We'll have to wait and see...

Finn's line about not having a father before glee club made my heart jump into my throat. I thought the entire "To Sir with Love" was heartbreaking. They all did such an amazing job. I particularly liked Lea's and Matt's acting abilities and seeing the softer side of Sue.

I love that Sue voted for New Directions. That, I didn't expect. It just shows that she's not such an awful person, another redeeming quality for her. I'm wondering how this will work out next season. She's been the main villain, along with Vocal Adrenaline, for the glee club. I'm wondering if she'll take a back seat as a villain and they'll introduce someone else? We'll have to wait and see.

"Somewhere Over the Rainbow" was a perfect way to end the show. I thought it was beautifully done by Matt and Mark. I loved seeing all of the kids sitting together and just being happy that they were getting another year.

This episode reminded me why I love this show. It was witty, entertaining, and everything you can ask for in a season finale. I like that most things were tied up, but there are still a few details left hanging in the balance.

Favorite line? "Not unless you have some hand sanitizer. I've seen that car you drive. I don't want to catch poor." - Sue
Favorite performance? "Anyway You Want It/Lovin' Touching' Squeezin'" A close second would actually have to be "Faithfully". I loved the chemistry between Lea and Cory.

peace.

Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' was my favorite performance as well. However, I'm iffy about Shelby and baby Drizzibeth returning. Although, I'm glad that Quinn stayed so resolved to give her up, I don't think I want to see her back too soon. It's only going to cause problems if they bring her back before Puck and Quinn can straighten out they're relationship.

And I was a little iffy on the Will/Emma front. Mostly because I'm a little pissed at Will, there was no reason to have to yell that at Emma after how he's treated her. And definitely not the way to earn back her respect, especially since she was just fighting for something you want whole-heartedly in there.

Oh yeah. I don't want Shelby and Beth back soon, but I like that it's open for the future. I think Rachel can grow as a character, now that she knows who her mother is, and she can do that growing without Shelby there. I think the Beth might create some friction between Quinn and Puck, maybe. Like I said, she seemed pretty set on giving her up and Puck seemed more reluctant. If they get in a fight, he might use that against her...

I know what you're saying about Will/Emma. I think it'll be good for her to be with someone else. I just want them together and to be past all this drama-drama.

Yeah, Will wasn't very likable in that scene. Especially as it's, well, Emma.

In fairness, nobody seemed to understand why she was there, so I'm thinking perhaps she blackmailed someone to get there in the first place.

I was touched until the woman started talking. I don't think either one of them are really ready to be back in one another's lives.

I was confused at first too, and that's what I came up with. It seemed to me like Rachel was talking to them after they'd come back.

I think they need to move past some things first anyway. I love them both as a couple and as individual characters, but they have to grow a bit. Especially Will - I like him, but part of him never moved past high school. He needs to grow up.
